Fantastic authentic Puertorrican food in a real sitdown restaurant. Loved the pinchos and shared a mofongo w my wife. Pinchos are great for those trying to cut carbs since they are pure protein and are grilled.

My husband and I have been wanting to eat here for a while but every time we would pass by, it was closed. In one of those times, the owner actually inside and came out to greet us and explained that sometimes they sold out of food so they close early. Anyways, we finally were able to go when they were actually opened and it didn't disappoint. The mofongos we ate were delicious. Also, the owner is extremely friendly and attentive!

Mofungo! Awesome lunch plates! Tasty desserts! Saw this place and had to stop. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Lunch special is a great deal. Choice of rice, choice of beans, a meat and plantains or Mac salad. They have chicken, pork and ribs to choose from. Pork was great and ribs were very good as well. We also ordered mofungo with fried pork which was very good. You will leave full and happy. Lots of locals coming in. Very simple and clean. Will be back!

Awesome Food truck! Great Puerto Rican food and you don't have to go that far into Tampa. The Mofongo with Fried Pork and their Garlic shrimp are authentic and great tasting. The Mofongo in nice and moist as it should be. If you are there ask them for their chicken broth (Caldo de Pollo), it's really good! You can call ahead of time as well to pick-up. Their numbr is: (813) 679-5352 See pics below and yes that is a bite in the Mofongo - I could not wait to taste it prior to taking the picture. :)

It's so great to finally find some good Puerto Rican food nearby. It's a food truck. It's on the east side of 301 at the corner of the old shopping plaza near Boyette. It's very close to the Rolo's Bakery side of that plaza. They are there Thursday through Saturday and are usually closed during the holidays so you may want to call ahead. I read the reviews and have been meaning to try it. I'm not sure what took me so long, but I'm glad I finally did. I have to be a little picky because both of my parents are from Puerto Rico. I've grown up with this food all my life. I know how to make the food but I'm not particularly patient when it comes to making it (and I'm just not good at it). It takes a lot of preparation and time. My mother closed down her kitchen a while ago, and I have been sad ever since. I remember she was always tired and drained by the time the meal was ready. I totally get it. With that said, the only negative part of the meal was the rice with gandules. It looks amazing, but it was average. It had little bits of meat which was nice, but I say this because I feel it was missing that savory sofrito with the recao leaves. Forget about the Goya sofrito. It has to be homemade and it's usually made in batches and frozen for future use. If they can add this to the rice, then it would totally be a 5 star experience for me. Just saying. Other than the rice, everything else was fantastic! I've had mofongo on the island many times. I'm not always a fan of it unless it's drenched in broth. That's why I decided to try the variation of mofongo (or Trifongo). This one has a mixture of green plantain, sweet plantain, and yucca. OMG, it was so delicious!!! I got it with the relleno de camarones. It was stuffed full of shrimp and the broth was very good. I will totally get this again in the future. It had all those wonderful garlic flavors that I love, and a little sweetness with the platano maduros mixed into it. I love this variation. You can have it all different ways with various types of meats, or you can have it by itself. I saw lobster, octopus (pulpo), and many other fillings. It's a winner for sure. I was also a big fan of the pinchos (skewers). It was a very tasty marinated pork on a skewer. They have chicken or pork. I was also super happy with the friendly service. I believe it's a family who runs it. They were both super helpful with all of my questions. It wasn't that long of a wait. I was there at around 2:30 on a Saturday. I sat at a bench under the shade of the oak trees. You can always walk over to Rolo's Bakery while you're waiting. I can't wait to try more of their menu items. I want to get the chicken pinchos (spanglish all the way) and lobster & shrimp trifongo next time. They may also have some great PR holiday treats, so make sure you ask if you don't see what you want on the menu.
